Check your carrier lock
On iPhone, look for No SIM restrictions in Settings → General → About. On Android, check with your carrier. An eSIM option alone doesn't confirm that your phone is unlocked.
Confirm the exact model
Check your manufacturer's official specifications for your model and purchase region. Some regional versions do not support eSIM, even when similarly named models do.
